Try Simplecast from Spacial Audio, I think it can take the metadata from a text file.Īnd assuming that you are using Shoutcast as your server, if you look around you will find a HTTP string that blasts the info to the server, you might be able to parse the data out of the text file, and through a series of arcane scripts blast it in the correct format directly to the server, which is all the encoders are doing.Īlternately, Simplecast may be able to take the serial data going to the RDS, or a different format out of your playout software. Anyone got any suggestions about how they might be doing it? Nothing I do seems to work, yet the "Professionals" seem to be able to do it with no problems. I tried just liking to the physical address, and that just displayed the path to the file. I've tried the trick, and that didn't work at all. Nor can I get it to display on the listening players either.

What I can't figure out, though, is how to get this text file's contents to show up in the NOW PLAYING part of the Shoutcast directory listing for my station. This text file can then be read by RDS encoder units for use with traditional terrestrial FM broadcasts/satellite radio. I've got everything set up to where DirEttore outputs a text file to my server. I've got a setup on my computer that uses Winamp to do the broadcast compression/streaming and DirEttore to do the playlist automation. I've searched and searched for the answer, but I can't find anything.
